Floor Seasons Creates
"Art You Can Walk On"
It's not by chance that Floor Seasons floors get noticed. A combination of quality product, creative talent, integrity
and passion meld together to produce "art you can walk on." Co-owner Cary Grant designs the many wonderful
creations that have become the company's trademark, and he work hard to maintain the company's impeccable
reputation. "if you don't have passion, if you don't have integrity, you have nothing," he says. Grant is obviously
passionate about what he does, and wondering what the next project will bring.
Floor Seasons enjoys its success, according to Grant, largely because it specializes in concrete staining only — that
is its only service. "We are very good at what we do because we specialize in doing one thing with excellence. To
my knowledge, no one else in our industry does that," says Grant. His unwavering integrity also contributes to the
company's success.
The process of concrete staining involves a chemical reaction between an acid stain and the minerals in in the
concrete itself. Says Grant, "The colors we offer are not really unique, everybody uses the same colors because
there are only so many available for this type of process." Floor Seasons' distinctiveness comes from what they do
with those colors — the designs Grant creates, his artistic skill and flair set him apart from all the rest. There are many
design motifs to choose from — Tuscan and Neo-Classic are currently the most popular.
Grant credit wife and co-owner Julie with much of the company's success. He says, "Julie is the backbone of the
company — she keeps us grounded. She
is committed to running the day-to-day operation at the highest standard. If Julie hadn't sat up in bed in the middle
of the night and named this company, we would not have the drive and the vision it took to become successful
business owners. We definitely are equal partners, both doing what we love." The rest of the company is made
up of a handful of employees including Jon Belger, the apprentice Grant hopes someday to take his place at the
helm of the company's artistic division. Belger currently runs all the job sites in the field, and creates innovative
ideas regarding concrete staining and its artistry.
Although Floor Seasons has beautified the interior and exterior floors of many residences and businesses, Grant
has a special fondness for his residential clients, because he enjoys working directly with a homeowner in
designing a uniquely personal floor. "The commercial side is fun, too, but you just don't get the one-on-one
satisfaction of helping someone realize a dream," he says.
